“Short Term” Webisode Shoot

A friend of mine is an actor and producer of a webisode called “Short Term”.  “Short Term” is a web series that takes a comedic look at the day to day life at a Temp Agency.  On Thursday, my friend asked if I would be interested in shooting a co-star role for the series finale. The scene called for a family, so she also asked if my husband and toddler daughter would be interested in filming .  My husband is not pursuing a career in the business, but he is a real natural and was up for it.

The Saturday morning shoot went great.  The scene was very sweet, I am grateful to have been a part of it.  Though I have to say, I think my toddler stole the show.  She was so sweet.  She had a line, but in true toddler form, she added her own lines.  Everyone on set was smiling.  She did a great job.  And, for the record, so did my husband.

We’ll be very excited to see the finale.

Three Auditions on Thursday

Wow!  What a day.  Today I had three auditions.  Lucky me!

First  I had a commercial audition at Ross Lacy Casting.  Today’s product was Olive Garden.  The attire: casual with a white button down shirt.  I arrived at 200 S. La Brea and signed in for my audition.  I read the sides and really liked the character.  Good audition!

Next I drove over to CAZT to audition for a webisode called “Insatiable”, which was described as “Twilight meets Twin Peaks”.  I auditioned for the role of Abby, a superficial, small town real estate agent with an agenda.

Lastly I had an audition at Big House Casting in Studio City for an indie film.  I auditioned for the role of Carol, a sweet, pregnant wife.  The only lovable character in a dysfunctional family.

Callback for Jennifer

Today I had a callback for a new web series called “Stoned High”.   The Series is projected to film 10 Episodes of 10 minutes each for the web.

I was called back for the role of Samantha Kennedy, who is described as “fit body, mid 20’s, blonde, was Prom-Queen in 2002″. I was one of 5 girls called back for the role.

Once I arrived I was paired with two different guys who were reading for the role of Sean, Samantha’s boyfriend.  In this comedic series Sean and Samantha are out for revenge.

This is a fun role.  I would love the opportunity to explore this character more.

Audition for Jennifer

Today I had an audition for a new web series called “Stoned High”.   The Series is projected to film 10 Episodes of 10 minutes each for the web.  I auditioned for Samantha Kennedy who is described as “fit body, mid 20′s, BLONDE, was Prom-Queen in 2002″.

I arrived for auditions at the Taft Building in Hollywood.  I was glad to have an early audition time, because there was a ton of people there and the casting session prior to the web series was running over.  I was given just a 1/2 sheet of paper with a couple lines.  I made my choices and waited my turn. When it was my turn to audition, it was on camera.

Overall I felt good about my character choices and hope to receive a callback.

Audition

Today I had an audition for a webseries.  I was invited to audition for the role of Megan, the “beautiful girl-next-door dating the lead character”.  The sides were not available prior the audition and the breakdown mentioned that the actors must be “comfortable with edgy comedic material”.   

Well, I arrived at The Barn Studio in West Hollywood and signed in for my audition where I was given the sides.  I read the sides and was taken aback.  This was not my idea of “edgy comedic material” it was vulgarity at the expense of the actress playing the role.  Had the sides been provided prior to the audition, I would have turned it down.  So, I told Brett, the AD who checked me in,that I was uncomfortable with the material.  He told me I was not the only actress to say that.  In fact, another actress at the audition turned down the audition for the same reason I did.  We left within minutes of each other. 

I gave Brett my headshot for consideration for future roles in the series. Ditsy, I can do.  Stuck-up, I can do.  Royal pain in the butt, I can do.  But vulgar or, as the script put it, “kinky” characters are just not the for me.  I am disappointed that I was unable to audition after I got all “dolled up” for the audition, but am comfortable with my decision.  I wish Firepit Productions the best of luck with their project.

Callback for “The Kitchen Table”

Wow, I had a great callback for “The Kitchen Table”! 

I arrived for my 2:25 audition pumped and ready to go.  There was a bit of a wait, but I chatted with a couple of really cool girls in the lobby.  When it was our turn, the Casting Director, Lydia Nicole, invited me and 3 other girls into the audition room.  The Director, Allen Sowelle, gave us the topic of “Doing More with Less” and assigned each of us a role in the show.  Myself and another girl were asked to serve as the “Studio Personalities”, one girl was asked to serve as a “Street Interviewer” and the last girl was asked to serve as a “Comic Relief/Slacker Type”.  

I really felt like I auditioned with a great group of girls.  We worked well together and came up with some great ideas.  I’m hoping that the director felt the same way.  I think working on “The Kitchen Table” would be an awesome experience!

The Auditions Are Flying In This Week!

This is starting out to be a great week!  On Monday I auditioned for “The Kitchen Table” and by the end of the day I had been invited to audition for 2 additional project AND have a call back for “The Kitchen Table”.  How exciting is that?  The two projects I have been invited to audition for are called “Plattitudes” and “Pigeon Kicker”.  Both are independent films.

Audition For A New Web Series

Today I auditioned to be a host on a new web-base talk show called “The Kitchen Table”.  “The Kitchen Table” is being cast my Lydia Nicole, executive produced by writer, producer, director Robert Townsend and produced by Messiah Jacobs, who I happened to have met last month.  The show is looking for big personalities who are knowledgeable of current events and have great improv skills.  For the audition I “played off of” 2 other actors.  We were given a situation by the director, Allen Sowelle, and asked to take a specific view on the situation.  After that, it was up to us. 

I had a blast!  I’m glad I have been working on my improv skills for the past couple months, because I didn’t miss a beat.  Overall, I walked away feeling really great about my audition.

On Saturday I filmed several scenes for the webisode, “Industry: The Series” .  I play Agent Sarah Johnson, a FBI Agent who has been sent to investigate a series of murders of actresses in the LA area.  At the scene of the crime I meet Detective Lopez, played by Michael Placencia.

“INDUSTRY: The Series”, starring Jennifer Keller and Michael Placencia, will begin filming the latest installment of the webseries on December 20th. 

 This is the highly anticipated episode of the season!  Look for it after Christmas.

Cast Meeting for INDUSTRY: The Series

 

Tonight we had a cast and crew meeting for INDUSTRY: The Series.  We met at the shooting location in Tarzana and discussed where the script was going.  Final script should arrive to us in 2 weeks and we will shoot the first episode of the new season before the holidays!

The Gieco Cavemen are back and funnier than ever!  If you haven’t checked out “The Caveman Crib Party” at www.cavemanscrib.com, you should now!  This is the only site that gives you access to the Cavemen’s “private lives”.  Have fun “snooping” around their posh apartment after the biggest party of the year.  If you look close enough, you will find that several of the guests left their cell phones around the house, and if you look closer you can watch video clips from the big party!

I play Sarah, a new love interest for Max (Max has been the lead character in the Gieco Caveman Commercials for the past 4 years).   Below is a photo of me with The Guys (in order of appearance):  Eric, Marty and Max.
