Week 1 of the “Rules of Comedy” with Nick Anderson

Tonight I started a 4 week Comedy workshop with Casting Director, Nick Anderson.  The workshop is at AIA Actors Studio in Burbank, CA.  Before opening his own office, Nick worked with many top casting houses including Junie Lowry-Johnson Casting (True Blood, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Big Love, Dirty Sexy Money, Prison Break) Dava Waite (My Name is Earl, Yes Dear!)  and many others.

Tonight Nick went over the 6 different “triplets” in comedy, meaning the 6 different ways that writers set up the jokes in comedy.  As an comedic actor, it is imperative to know how to pick out the “triplet” in order to master the jokes.
