Casting Director Workshop with Cathy Henderson-Martin

Tonight I attended a Casting Director Workshop with Cathy Henderson-Martin at AIA Actors Studio.

Cathy is such a doll.  She is funny and down to earth.  Cathy is working on a 5 picture deal right now and still took the time to teach at AIA. Amazing.  She said that she has been casting for 35 years and has a reputation for finding new talent.

Cathy passed out sides from various films.  I was given sides from a movie called “Monster in Law”.  I never saw this film, but I know it is a comedy.  In the scene my character, Charlotte, has met her menacing mother-in-law for brunch.  It was a treat to work on and I got a few laughs (applying those tips from Nick Anderson’s “Rules of Comedy” class).

What a great evening.  Thanks Cathy for teaching at AIA!
