Audition for “A Simple Conversation”

Today I had an audition for “A Simple Conversation”, a short film produced at The American Film Institute (AFI).  I was called in for a lead role, Kitty, a wife and mother who learns her husband has a terrible secret.

The director, Jon, and the producer, Kristina, were both so sweet.  Jon was a very hands on director and we kept playing with different interpretations of the script.  He would say, “let’s just play with this…”, which was great.  It gave me a chance to try all sort of different tactics to get what I wanted in the scene.  I walked out of the audition feeling really happy with my performance.  What a good experience!
