Monkey Butler Improv

I’ve taken some time off from improv class, but Thursday night I was back in Level 2 class at Monkey Butler, which focuses on the Long Form Improv.

And tonight we worked on a Long Form with organic openings.  Organic openings start off with an emotion suggestion (ie Joy, Fear, etc) and the 6 actors play off each other as the emotion becomes action and evolves.  Afterwards we break into groups of 2 and each group works on an improv scene inspired by our Organic Opening.  Very cool.    I stepped forward an worked on a scene with a guy named Calder.  And I thought our scene was fun!

I also worked on a 2 person scene all about being a doctor, that went particularly well. One of my favorite scenes to date.
